A collection of data on the history of Lower California, with emphasis upon missions, Indian disturbances, and the biographies of political administrators, covering in a few instances events in northern California. Contains notes supplied to the Bancroft Library by Rojo at various dates in 1879, as well as some of his correspondence on the subject with Thomas Savage, Henry L. Oak, and others.

Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H.
